OptiWolf Cookie and Local Storage Policy

Effective date: July 2, 2026 · OptiWolf is operated by UniBreeze Kft. (Budapest, Hungary)

This policy enumerates, truthfully and completely, the cookies and browser storage used by OptiWolf: on our own websites, and by the OptiWolf Snippet on our customers' websites. OptiWolf uses no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking cookies, and no fingerprinting anywhere.

1. optiwolf.com (this website)

The marketing site sets no cookies. It uses one piece of browser storage:

NameTypePurposeLifetime
ow_scan_leadsessionStorageCarries your email and scanned site between the free-scanner steps, so the email never appears in a URLCleared when the tab closes

Fonts are self-hosted, so pages request them from no third party. One third-party request occurs: the scanner's site-preview image is fetched from WordPress.com mShots. It sets no cookies on our pages; it receives your IP address as part of the request, as any web request does.

2. app.optiwolf.com (the application)

NameTypePurposeLifetime
op_sidCookie (HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Secure)Keeps you signed in to your account30 days

That is the only cookie the application sets. It is strictly necessary for the service; no consent banner is required for it, and we set nothing else.

3. Customer websites (set by the OptiWolf Snippet)

When a website you visit uses OptiWolf, the Snippet stores the following first-party values in your browser's localStorage on that site. They identify you only within that one website; they are not shared across sites and contain no personal details.

KeyPurposeTransmitted to OptiWolf?Lifetime
op_vidRandom visitor identifier, so the same browser stays in the same experiment variantYes, with experiment events (pseudonymous)Persistent
op_sSession identifier and last-activity timestamp (a new session starts after 30 idle minutes)Yes, with eventsRolling
op_a_<experiment>Which variant of an experiment this browser was assignedYes, with eventsPersistent
op_ca_<campaign>Which variant of a popup campaign this browser was assignedYes, with campaign eventsPersistent
op_profileBehavioral profile used for on-device targeting: pages visited on this site, session count, referrer and UTM historyNo. Never leaves the browser.Persistent, capped at ~4KB
op_cf_<campaign>Popup frequency state (shown count, dismissed at, submitted), so campaigns respect cooldowns and stop re-appearingNo. Never leaves the browser.Persistent

If localStorage is blocked, the Snippet falls back to a first-party cookie for op_vid only; the other values simply do not persist.

Who must tell you about these? The website you visited is the data controller for this storage and is responsible for disclosing it in its own cookie notice and for obtaining any consent its jurisdiction requires. This page exists so those disclosures can be exact. If you are an OptiWolf customer, you may link to or copy this inventory.

4. Clearing

All of the above can be removed with your browser's standard "clear site data" controls. Clearing resets experiment assignments and popup frequency caps on the affected site; signed-in sessions on app.optiwolf.com end.
